A new machine at Papeterie Le Bourray (72)

This is the first major project since the restart of the plant.

In April 2019, CGMP (Comptoir général des matières premières) saved the paper mill from liquidation by taking over the cotton-wool production activity of Papeterie Le Bourray from the Sequana group (read Arjowiggins Le Bourray paper mill saved from liquidation ). The factory that used to manufacture wadding and graphic paper is now entirely dedicated to CGMP's specialty, ephemeral tableware.

And to complete this conversion, the PM4 paper machine will be completely rebuilt by June this year. It will be dedicated to the production of tissues from chemical pulp and waste paper.

The PM4 will be dismantled and modified by Toscotec, a company specialising in the construction of paper and tissue paper machines. In particular, the Italian group will install a new fully hydraulic TT headbox. The machine's downtime should be less than a week.

The objective of this new production line is to improve the quality of the production and thus increase the speed of the machine.

"This new headbox is our first major project since the plant restart in April 2019, and it will allow us to improve our quality and develop new markets", says François Bourdin, CEO of Papeterie Le Bourray.
