Fespa unveils exhibitors for new Textile Show in 2026
The Fespa organization announces a strong mobilization of exhibitors for the launch of Textile, a new show dedicated to textile printing, organized as part of Fespa 2026. The event will be held from May 19 to 22, 2026 at the Fira de Barcelona in Spain, alongside Global Print Expo, Personalisation Experience, European Sign Expo, WrapFest and the new Corrugated show.
This new event will showcase technologies and applications related to promotional textile printing, print-on-demand, garment decoration, sportswear and interior design.
Confirmed exhibitors include B-Flex Italia and ZSK for POD production and high-volume textile printing solutions. Fibre Excellence: conciliation period extended
Fibre Excellence paper group announces the extension of the ongoing conciliation period until April 15, 2026, following discussions with government departments .
This extension will enable the Group to examine the various options for securing the future of its activities in France, concentrated at its pulp and paper mills in Saint-Gaudens (Haute-Garonne) and Tarascon (Bouches-du-Rhône). It has indicated that it wants to find a lasting solution that will enable it to continue operating its sites, preserve jobs and support the forestry-wood industry.
At this stage, no collective proceedings are envisaged in the short term. Fibre Excellence points out that its financial situation enables it to enter this new phase of discussions within a controlled framework.
Death of Edward E. Barr, former CEO of Sun Chemical
Edward E. Barr, former CEO and chairman of American ink manufacturer Sun Chemical, died on February 13, 2026 at the age of 89.
Joining Sun Chemical in 1962 as assistant to the president, he quickly rose through the ranks: group vice-president, executive vice-president Packaging, then president and COO from 1975. Over more than four decades, he was instrumental in transforming the company into the world's leading producer of printing inks and graphic arts materials.
Under his leadership, Sun Chemical strengthened its international dimension and consolidated its position in the printing, packaging and color materials sectors. His influence had a lasting impact not only on the company, but also on the entire graphics and packaging industry.
Sun Chemical, a member of the DIC group, currently generates annual sales in excess of 7 billion dollars and employs over 21,000 people worldwide.
Bluecrest France fully integrates Technopli
Bluecrest announces the complete integration of its Technopli subsidiary within Bluecrest France. Bought out over twenty years ago, the entity had until now retained a separate status and corporate name.
From now on, Technopli will operate under the name of "site de Privas", after the town in the Ardèche region where the American mail processing technology manufacturer's equipment is produced.
According to Bluecrest vice-president Gael Boudergue, this integration confirms Bluecrest's commitment to maintaining manufacturing capacity in France to meet the needs of European and export markets.
In particular, the Privas site develops the Velocity inserting solution (over 300 units installed worldwide), the Infinity Plus marking system, as well as card insertion equipment used notably in the telecoms and secure document sectors.
Located at Champs-Sur-Marne in the Ãle-de-France region, BlueCrest France has 150 employees, and stands out for its R&D activities and Qualiopi-certified training center. This French subsidiary of the group, which employs 1,700 people worldwide, posts sales of almost 50 million euros.
13.4 million euros for a cutting and flexo line at DS Smith
DS Smith is investing up to 13.4 million euros to modernize its Grenaa packaging plant in Denmark, with the installation of a new rotary die-cutting and flexographic printing line. The aim is to increase production capacity by up to 15 million m2 of additional corrugated board per year, and to meet customers' growing need for automation.
At the same time, the paper group announces a 3âeuros000Â m2 extension to its Bredasten site in Sweden, scheduled for completion by June 2027.
Bourquin Imprimeries, partner of the Federation of Independent Winegrowers
Bourquin Imprimeries, based in Reims (Marne), announces a partnership with the Fédération des vignerons indépendants.
The Reims-based printing house has become a partner for the production of labels and other printed materials for wineries, for the more than 7,000 members of the federation present in all wine-growing regions, with the aim of supporting producers in promoting their vintages and their identity.
Papeteries de Vizille expands
Papeteries de Vizille, which specializes in industrial bags and specialty papers for printing and industry, continues to expand its production site in Vizille, Isère.
Since January 2026, an additional 1âeuros740Â m2 has been under construction, bringing the total surface area of the sack factory to over 10âeuros000Â m2.
Recent operations have included the installation of six prestressed concrete beams weighing 18 tonnes and 25.5 metres in length.
This future extension is designed to support the ramp-up in production of industrial paper bags.
