U stores are bringing back the printing of their leaflets to France

14 French printing works, including Rockson Nouvelle, will print the chain's flyers.

Is this the beginning of the next world? System U stores have decided to relocate the printing of their leaflets to France "in order to support the French industrial fabric" .

"In an exceptional economic crisis, an exceptional decision: we considered it our responsibility to support the printing sector in France, which has been hard hit by the crisis, by relocating our orders. We are entering a period when the defence of the French economy must be at the heart of our decisions" explains Dominique Schelcher, President of Système U, in a press release. "The French printers concerned will see an increase in turnover of around 90 %".

From the second quarter of 2020, 14 French printing plants will print half of the year's projected total of 348 million copies. This production in France comes "a little more expensive" compared to their usual impression made in Germany, Spain and Italy, said the president of the retail cooperative on RMC in the June 17 edition of Bourdin Direct.

The Rockson Nouvelle printing plant, located in Rognac in the Bouches-du-Rhône, is one of these 14 printing plants. This decision of the U stores is "a real chance "for the company that "is going through a difficult period due to very strong European competition and the health crisis".. says Stéphane Toti, the president of the 52-employee printing plant.
Rockson Nouvelle's turnover will thus, from July onwards, increase by more than 150% compared to the same period last year.
"This allows us to consolidate our situation and secure the future".
