A graphic project that combines the love of books and cinema

Through this project, the graphic designer Matt Steven has fun inventing book covers for books that don't exist but refer to films he particularly liked.

It is a work that combines the love of graphic design, books and cinema. Matt Steven, an American graphic designer, used the participatory funding platform Kickstarter to launch his project entitled "?Good movies as old Books?", which can be translated as "?De good movies as old livres?".

Through this project, Matt Steven has fun inventing the cover of books that don't exist but refer to films he particularly liked. The films are recent but the covers are inspired by the graphic style of the book covers of the English-language editions of the 60s and 70s.

Whoever is used to second-hand book markets will immediately recognize these thick, hardcover books with their printed covers that have been damaged and aged by time, but whose colours and graphics remain very expressive and evocative of an era. Pocket formats with soft covers are also in the spotlight. From Mad Max à Into The Wild via Fight Club and Parasite there's something for everyone.

Initially carried out as an exercise, this creative work gradually became a project in its own right," explains the designer.
