The company S˙nia, which presents itself as the European leader in doming in design from A to Z (printing, cutting, resin deposition, processing, packaging, delivery), received the Bronze Award of the Fespa Awards for its 3D covering. The winners were announced online on the YouTube platform on Wednesday 16 September 2020.
Designed by S˙nia, this 3D covering consists in superimposing vinyl and laminates to dress the vehicle.? In addition to this, there is the application? doming which provides a three-dimensional relief effect. The awarded covering was realized on an Epson S80600 printer. The colour splash characteristics of the wheel arch were printed on 3M vinyl.
The customer has two options for adding relief on or under the covering," explains the printer. The outer relief covering allows sublimation of certain parts (a curved resin layer is added on the covering film)?; and the inner relief covering allows the creation of surprising embossing effects (a layer of resin is added under the film, between the substrate and the covering).
Created in 2005 and taken over by Sylvain Maillard in 2014, S˙nia is a printing company specialized in digital printing and resin deposition. The company manufactures three products distincts?: the adhesive label, the raised label (doming), and the scented label relief? (olfactory doming) for which it holds an international patent.
S˙nia has several innovations in its product portfolio with the olfactory doming in 2017, the textile doming in 2018, the mat and satin doming in 2019 and the relief covering in 2020.
