Baldwin Introduces New Print Defect Inspection Solution

The new Defender inspection solution identifies, tracks and removes print defects.

At the end of October, Baldwin Vision Systems launched "?Defender?", a new solution for inspecting and tracking print defects. Featuring easy-to-use self-learning algorithms and higher resolution, Defender, according to its designer, enables the detection of low contrast defects. Modern, efficient, fan-cooled LED lighting provides high intensity with a more detailed image and less interference.

The Defender workflow components include Defender 100% Inspection, Defender Data Central and Defender Waste Manager, which operate in a continuous stream of defect detection and monitoring.

Designed for packaging substrates printed on wide web, Defender 100% Inspection monitors the entire web to detect and manage defects such as petals, streaks, color variations, mottling, corrugations, holes, contamination and all other random defects.

" ?Les print buyers are increasingly demanding a complete print inspection, with detailed print quality reports. Defender technologies enable printers and converters to monitor and strengthen their processes while directly improving their rentabilité?", said John Cusack, Business Development Specialist for Baldwin Vision Systems.

Formed in 2018 from the merger of QuadTech, PC Industries and Web Printing Controls, Baldwin Vision Systems specializes in inspection and color technologies for the printing industry.
