Kongsberg PCS updates its cutting table control software with IPC 3.1. This version features a redesigned interface, new automations and more precise configuration tools. Aimed at users of Kongsberg digital tables, this software is designed to optimize speeds and simplify operations.
A redesigned operator interface for multi-material workshops
The first visible new feature of IPC version 3.1 is its new graphic interface. It has been designed for optimized touch-screen navigation with real-time feedback, reducing learning time for new operators and enabling customers to better exploit the functionality and precision of their existing cutting tables, Kongsberg assures.
Precise control of cutout attachments with Dynamic nicks
The other new feature is Dynamic nicks, which allows on-the-fly modification of the attachment zones between cut parts and off-cuts. This feature is particularly useful for maintaining the integrity of parts during unloading, avoiding losses or unwanted detachments. This adjustment is made without having to modify the initial vector file, or use third-party software.
Greater automation of the preparation stage
The IPC 3.1 module also integrates several automated prepress functions. File alignment automatically adjusts to the actual position of the material via edge-to-edge registration.
What's more, the system automatically detects and orientates files, thus limiting upstream handling. V-groove adjustment is also automated: angles and depths are calculated to guarantee consistent folds, even on complex materials.
Last but not least, this version features the new Job Estimator. With its updated algorithm, it anticipates cycle times more accurately, enabling more realistic job scheduling.
Extended hardware compatibility on the Kongsberg range
"This new upgrade not only reduces downtime and set-up times, but, thanks to features such as Dynamic nicks, makes an already powerful operating system more dynamic and intuitive, allowing our customers to get the most out of their investment in their Kongsberg table and optimize their operations." says John Wilson, Product Manager at Kongsberg PCS.
IPC 3.1 software is now available for the brand's latest platforms, namely the Ultimate, C and X series, as well as some older models.
