Agfa unveils InterioJet, the water-based inkjet printing system specially designed for interior decoration. The InterioJet 3300 in 1.55 cm wide CRJNLn is a water-based multi-pass inkjet machine for printing on interior decoration paper, such as laminate floors and furniture, in short and medium runs.
Based on the Jeti Tauro platform, the InterioJet offers the same printing reliability. It delivers brilliant output and consistent quality throughout the production line and print run, at speeds of up to 340 m (950 ft) per minute 2 per hour. "It stands out for its contrast, sharpness and colour saturation, which correspond to the typical colour profiles of the decoration sector" says the Belgian manufacturer.
The InterioJet 3300, a CRJNLn inkjet machine
Agfa has developed specific water-based pigmented inks for the InterioJet that are lightfast and waterfast and consist of the CRJNLn set of cyan, red, yellow, black and light black.
"The patented method of replacing the red pigment with magenta pigment allows the InterioJet to compete with wood decors made by gravure printing." and "thanks to the thin dried layer, they can be used to print large wood and natural stone patterns (like marble) without surface relief" stresses the manufacturer.

Dedicated to short and medium runs
For Tom Cloots, Director of Agfa's Industrial Inkjet Division, "The InterioJet 3300 will accelerate the evolution from analogue (rotogravure) to digital printing in the laminate market.
"It's the ideal cost-effective solution for medium and short runs." he continues, due to its short start-up time and high flexibility. "The system allows interior designers to give free rein to their creativity and create custom designs for each order."
This printer can be combined with various impregnation and lamination processes (low, medium or high pressure lamination). It can also print simultaneously on two rolls, each up to 155 cm wide and weighing up to 600 kg.
Like Agfa's large-format printers, the InterioJet is driven by the Asanti workflow. Asanti is fully compatible with the latest products of the UK-based software group AVA CAD/CAM for the interior design industry.
