Mouvent is now fully owned by Bobst Group. The Swiss manufacturer of printing and finishing machines for the packaging and label sectors acquired the remaining 49.9% of the company dedicated to inkjet printing from its partner Radex. The purpose of this acquisition is to "to accelerate the development of its digital printing solutions." .
Bobst has owned 50.1% of Mouvent since its creation in June 2017, launched in conjunction with the Radex company. Mouvent develops "technological innovations that could revolutionize packaging production".. indicates the group.
"The work accomplished in the space of three years has been very important and positive" supports Bobst. More than 20 Bobst and Mouvent presses equipped with Mouvent Cluster technology have been sold in Europe and the United States this year.
This Mouvent Cluster technology - integrated with Mouvent's LB701-UV and LB702-UV presses, and Bobst's Master DM5 - is based on printheads equipped with their own electronic components, ink supply and mechanics, allowing modular organization.
New digital inkjet printing solutions and water-based inks will soon be launched. They should meet the environmental requirements of the packaging world, according to Bobst.
This acquisition in digital printing follows another investment in digital. Bobst and SEI Laser an Italian company specialising in digital finishing, will create a unit dedicated to laser cutting for the label and packaging sectors.
