First installation of the CorruFLEX from Koenig & Bauer

The culmination of a contract signed in December 2019 between the manufacturer Koenig & Bauer and the packaging group Thimm.

The first CorruFLEX from Koenig & Bauer was installed in Romania in a plant of the packaging group Thimm. This installation is the culmination of a contract signed in December 2019.

"?En installing this HQPP flexo press, we meet the demand for high quality packaging products in the Eastern European market and expand our portfolio of solutions oriented client?", explains Michael Weber, Head of Corporate Strategy and Marketing of the Thimm Group. The new press will be used primarily for four-colour production on coated board.

Developed in parallel with the CorruCUT rotary die-cutting machine, the CorruFLEX is designed for very high quality flexo post-printing on corrugated sheets with high productivity. The machine can be used as a stand-alone solution or in combination with all common models of flatbed diecutters. The CorruFLEX is capable of printing corrugated board up to 9 mm thick at a maximum speed of 12?000 f/h.

Christoph Müller, Member of the Management Board of Koenig & Bauer, says :

"?Nous remain committed to pursuing our strategic path. Our three new presses, the CorruJET, CorruCUT and CorruFLEX, have now been successfully launched on the market and we will intensify our efforts to set the standard in this segment as well.?»

Koenig & Bauer thus continues to strengthen its position in packaging. At a virtual trade fair in June, the manufacturer presented its printing and cutting solutions for corrugated board: CorruCUT (rotary die-cutting), CorruFLEX (flexo printing) and CorruJET (inkjet printing).
