Lecta increases its paper prices again

Thermal papers, wood-free papers and now specialty papers and self-adhesive materials.

Lecta announces further price increases. Last January, the Spanish-based paper group had already announced increase its rates of its thermal papers and its entire range of coated woodfree two-sided papers and uncoated papers. The parent company made up of Italy's Cartiere del Garda, France's Condat and Spain's Torraspapel is now applying increases to its specialty paper ranges and its self-adhesive materials range.

Prices for specialty paper ranges (which concern the label and flexible packaging markets) will increase by about 10%. "This new measure will come into effect for all deliveries from Thursday, April 1, 2021, and will apply in all European and international markets." says the group. This increase is "necessary" to compensate for increased pulp and chemical costs as well as freight costs.

The price increase for self-adhesive materials will apply to all deliveries on or after Monday, April 19, 2021. The increase will be between 8 and 10%.
"Having become inevitable, it is intended to offset the increase in manufacturing costs as a result of the continuing rise in raw material prices."
