Coveris strengthens its position in secure packaging

By acquiring this English company, Coveris increases its production capacity for secure packaging, a growing market in particular for e-commerce and the medical sector.

The Austrian Coveris Group has acquired Initial Packaging, a British company with about 40 employees. Initial Packaging specializes in the production of printed polyethylene packaging for e-commerce, security and logistics applications.

With this acquisition, the flexible packaging group, which has 28 production sites and 4,000 employees and generates sales of 800 million euros, gains access to new markets as well as a broader product offering and increased production capacity in the tamper-evident packaging sector, a sector that is currently undergoing major changes "is experiencing solid growth rates over time, particularly in e-commerce and medical packaging." says the new owner.
