Elopak introduces its new attached cap system

Because the cardboard can be recycled along with the attached cap, the Pure-TwistFlip system offers an answer to the growing consumer demand for sustainable and convenient packaging.

Elopak, the Norwegian manufacturer of liquid-food cartons, introduced Pure-TwistFlip in early June, its new interlocking closure system for Pure-Pak cartons.

The cap remains attached to the package

Elopak's new solution is designed to allow the cap to remain attached to the package for its entire life, the manufacturer says, adding that it is also its lightest cap yet and therefore contains less plastic.

Because the cardboard can be recycled along with the attached cap, the Pure-TwistFlip system offers an answer to the growing consumer demand for sustainable and convenient packaging.

Patrick Verhelst, chief marketing officer (CMO) at Elopak, states:

"We have invested heavily in developing greener packaging solutions that meet our customers' demanding criteria while also being part of a low-carbon circular economy. By combining Elopak's Pure-Pak with the Pure-TwistFlip cap, brands can now opt for packaging that contains less plastic and helps preserve the oceans.»

Launch in the fall of 2021

Elopak's new attached cap is expected to hit the market in fall 2021. Among other sustainability innovations, Elopak also offers unbleached natural paperboard packaging and capless packaging.

Founded in Norway in 1957, Elopak (Ferd Group) employs 2,600 people and sells more than 14 billion cartons each year in over 70 countries.
