Six European paper associations launch Fiber Packaging Europe

Fiber Packaging Europe wants to promote a constructive dialogue with the European authorities on the role of paper and board packaging.

Six trade associations, representing the forestry, pulp, paper and board production and recycling industries from across Europe, are joining forces and launching the Fiber Packaging Europe coalition. The mission of Fiber Packaging Europe is to provide renewable, circular and sustainable paper and board packaging solutions to help achieve the goals of the European Green Deal.

The six founding members of this new association are the Confederation of European Paper Industries (CEPI), the European Carton Makers Associations (ECMA), the European Paper Packaging Alliance (EPPA), the European Federation of Corrugated Board Manufacturers (FEFCO), Pro Carton and the Swedish Forest Industries Federation (SFIF).

"At a time when the Green Pact for Europe is driving a review of the EU's packaging regulatory framework, we have come together to raise awareness of the role that paper and board packaging plays and will play in achieving Europe's climate and environmental ambitions." says Mike Turner, managing director of ECMA and president of Fiber Packaging Europe.

Fiber Packaging Europe members will work with European Union policy makers to " to promote a constructive dialogue".
