Five iconic Arjowiggins papers taken over by Antalis

Antalis is now working to revive production of these paper brands.

This was one of the most likely scenarios. It has now been decided: Antalis is taking over part of the portfolio of its former historical supplier, the paper group Arjowiggins Scotland, which was placed under court administration last September . The paper distributor based in the Paris region adds to its portfolio the famous Conqueror, Curious Collection, Keaykolour, Pop'Set and Rives ranges.

The distributor is currently working on transferring these brands to other production sites. "We are pleased to ensure the continued existence of these iconic brands." said Xavier Jouvet, Antalis Group Paper Director.

"We have also acquired the vast majority of the remaining finished goods from these brands. This additional inventory, in addition to the current inventory we already have in our warehouses, should allow us to meet the bulk of our customers' demand in the coming months until we transition to new supplies in the first quarter of 2023." he says.

Antalis will continue to distribute these brands in countries where they and the other companies of its parent company, Japan's Kokusai Pulp & Paper, are not present. Unlike the other three lines, Conqueror and Pop'Set were not brands exclusively distributed by Antalis.

At the moment, the Sensation, SendMe, Opale and Creative Labels ranges have still not found new owners or new production sites.

The administrators of Interpath Advisory, in charge of Arjowiggins' British subsidiaries since their receivership on September 22, are looking for buyers for the two paper mills the Group has also acquired the Scottish graphic and packaging paper mill at Stoneywood and the English tracing and innovative paper mill at Chartham.

They had indicated to us at the beginning of October that interested investors are requested to contact them "as a matter of urgency, regardless of their interest to the company (or part of it) and/or specific assets".
