The European printing industry association Intergraf has released two guides to help the printing industry comply with key European regulations: the General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) and the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR). These documents detail the new obligations for printers operating on the European market.
The GPSR (EU/2023/988), applicable from December 13, 2024, imposes enhanced requirements on B2C printers in terms of product safety, technical documentation and risk assessment. B2B printers, on the other hand, remain outside the scope of application, with responsibility resting with the print buyers.
The EUDR (EU/2023/1115), which comes into force on December 30, 2025, aims to ensure that products marketed in the EU do not contribute to deforestation. The updated guide outlines transition periods and implementation measures for printers and their customers.
