Know-how / Verpack's made in Burgundy know-how concentrated in a "magic" calendar

The two Burgundian sites of the group are in charge of the conception and the production of the Advent calendar of L'Occitane en Provence.

The French manufacturer of luxury packaging Verpack has taken up a major industrial and logistical challenge during the last Christmas season. L'Occitane en Provence, the group's historical customer, always offers superb Advent calendars during the festive season. This year, for the beauty products brand, Verpack was entrusted with the design and production of a calendar with a more than singular shape: a cardboard cube that unfolds completely and reveals the 24 mysterious little boxes.

The production of this cube, called Mon Coffret magique de l'avent (My Magic Advent Box), required complete control of the entire production chain, from the design office to logistics. The group's two sites in Burgundy, in Avallon and Migennes, worked on this object.

This all-cardboard creation "required a lot of upstream work from Verpack's integrated design office" emphasizes the company.

Then comes the manufacturing stage. The cardboard structure of the cube is covered with a printed paper, the boxes become cases inserted in the structure. Cutting, gluing the boxes, assembling the boxes, assembling them and putting them in volume manually follow one another. Then comes the packaging with the placement of the 24 products in the 24 boxes. In order to reduce the carbon footprint as much as possible, the boxes are installed, without individual packaging, in non-woven containers. "The challenge was to ensure the perfect link between manual and automatic interventions, to insert quality controls, to manage reduced transport times, to coordinate the schedules of machines and men, right up to the packaging of the products produced on line emphasizes the manufacturer.

"Thanks to the complementary nature of our businesses and the proximity of our sites, we were able to be creative while maintaining a reasonable level of quality. For us, the gamble paid off comments L'Occitane en Provence in a release. For Verpack, this calendar perfectly represents the strength of a global French offer.
