Italian digital printing systems manufacturer Durst announces that it has acquired fellow Italian printer Aleph, known for its Laforte textile and paper printers.
Aleph's initial focus in 1999 was on software development and the distribution of textile consumables. In 2017, Wise Equity entered Aleph's capital alongside the three founders Alessandro Manes, Roberto Manes and Roberto Temperini. Today, the company, which employs around 40 people, has carved out a place for itself in the market for the design and manufacture of dye-sublimation and direct-to-fabric inkjet printers for the textile and visual communications industries. In addition to its Laforte Fabric and Laforte Paper ranges, it also offers software, drying systems and inks. 60% of its sales are generated abroad in some twenty countries.
For Christoph Gamper, CEO and co-owner of the Durst Group, which is active in the large-format textile, packaging and ceramics markets, this acquisition reinforces his strategic orientation "towards sustainable digital printing solutions" . It consolidates its position in the market for water-based printing technologies, which has seen rapid growth in recent years "due to increased demand for environmentally-friendly and customizable products". With this acquisition, Durst is also expanding its range of software products.
"Together, we have the potential to achieve significant breakthroughs in digital textiles, exterior and interior decoration." adds Alessandro Manes, CEO of Aleph.
