After announcing in the spring that it would discontinue sales of its Acuity Prime and Acuity Ultra presses, Fujifilm is taking another step in the reorganization of its printing operations. The Japanese manufacturer is selling its screen and flexographic ink business in the United States, Canada, and Latin America to the American company Nazdar. The transaction, which began on June 24, will be finalized on July 13.

It takes the form of a sale and license agreement with Nazdar. No figures have been disclosed regarding the number of sites and employees involved.
Tommy Katagiri, president of the Business Innovation Division at Fujifilm North America Corporation, believes that this transaction represents "a natural next step for both organizations." He adds that it allows Nazdar to expand its ink business, while supporting "Fujifilm's focus on other printing-related activities within Business Innovation" .
Richard Bowles, Nazdar's president and CEO, said: " "The integration of these Fujifilm product lines represents a strategic investment in the markets and customers that matter most to our future. We are strengthening our capabilities, deepening our expertise, and positioning ourselves to supply these products for many years to come."

Safety data sheets and technical data sheets will also continue to be available to ensure a smooth transition without any changes to the products or interruptions in supply.
Since the beginning of the year, Fujifilm has also removed its product lineup, which includes the Jet Press 750S sheet-fed inkjet press and the Jet Press 1160 roll-fed inkjet press , as well as the Acuity Prime and Acuity Ultra wide-format presses .
The manufacturer had explained that it intended to focus the development of its digital printing business on toner technologies, certain inkjet segments, and software incorporating artificial intelligence features.
