Summa launches S Class 3 plotters

This new range of S Class 3 Summa cutting plotters comes in four cutting widths and three cutting heads.

The third generation of cutting plotters from Summa. The Belgian manufacturer launches the S Class 3 range.

If at first glance this range of plotters seems similar to its predecessor - the Class S 2 which has been on the market for ten years - many improvements have been made, emphasizes Randi Kerkaert, Summa's Product Manager.
"The latest electronics enable faster responsiveness, better data processing and more precise motor control, for smoother, faster and more reliable results."

Grooving, a new feature on Summa Class 3 plotters

Aimed at the sign and display market, the S Class 3 cutting range also handles more materials than ever before.
A grooving option has also been added, in addition to cutting and penning. Christof Van Driessche, CCO at Summa, explains in a press release: "With the launch of the Class S 3 range, we aim to offer sign makers new opportunities to expand their vinyl cutting activities and explore new territories, such as cardboard cutting and creasing."

All S3 plotters feature G-Performance Mode, which increases production speed by up to 40%. Its impact is particularly noticeable when reading register marks and cutting larger substrates.

Three head models for S Class 3 cutting plotters

The Summa Class S 3 can be configured with three different heads: the D series features a floating blade, the T series a tangential blade, and the TC series, the most advanced series, has a head that can carry two tools at once (blade and grooving tool or blade and pen).

S Class 3 TC plotters are equipped with the latest optical positioning system (OPOS), which detects marks on a wide range of materials. "Thanks to automatic data processing in the cutting plotter, rather than by external software, registering marks is faster than ever" says Summa.

This Summa range is available in four cutting widths: the S3 75 in 84 cm, the S3 120 in 130 cm, the S3 140 in 145 cm and the S3 160 in 168 cm.
