Mimaki's first DTF printer exceeds 300 units sold

Mimaki's DTF printing technology is proving popular in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Mimaki's first direct-to-film (DTF) printer, unveiled in February 2023, has now sold over 300 units in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region. The TxF150-75 sold well in the UK, France, Italy, the Iberian Peninsula and Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

"This rapid and widespread adoption of the TxF150-75 attests not only to the quality of the printer, but also to the growing popularity of the DTF printing method." emphasizes the Japanese manufacturer of inkjet printers, cutting plotters and 3D printers. DTF printing technology has had a major impact on the apparel industry, thanks to its versatility in printing on a wide range of materials such as cotton, polyester or blended substrates, and to shorter lead times compared with other processes such as screen printing.

With its integrated circulation system and degassed ink pack, the CMYK-plus-white printer with an 800 mm print width is, according to its manufacturer, free from the technical problems associated with DTF printing technology, such as poor ink ejection and white ink clogging.

According to Arjen Evertse, Mimaki Europe's General Sales Manager, the TxF150 is the perfect solution for those adding DTF technology to their production capabilities, and for those who already have an in-house operation with short-run production.

Since August, Mimaki's DTF range has also included the TxF300-75 txF150-75, which has the same features as the TxF150-75, but boasts a maximum print speed three times faster.

More than 100 orders have been placed for the TxF300-75, particularly among established DTF application suppliers who print large volumes, says Arjen Evertse.
