Hinojosa enters the Italian market with the acquisition of MS Packaging. With sales expected to reach 739 million euros by 2023, the Spanish manufacturer of cardboard packaging for agriculture, logistics and e-commerce is extending its already well-established presence through 22 production sites in Spain, France and Portugal, employing over 2,700 people.
MS Packaging specializes in the manufacture and marketing of paper and corrugated packaging, mainly for the food and beverage markets. It has two packaging and paper plants, located in Salerno and Arzano, and is forecasting sales of 60 million euros for 2023. All 200 employees at the two sites will join Hinojosa.
This " marks a new stage in its internationalization and contributes to expanding its range of sustainable packaging" says Hinojosa, with the aim of anticipating future customer demands.
This Italian acquisition comes barely a year after the acquisition, in February 2023, of 49% of ASV Packaging a French manufacturer of printed corrugated board packaging, comprising the Covepa-Michels plant and MSC Packaging, which handles the manufacture and distribution of Halopack trays in Châteauroux (Indre), and CEC Packaging in Le Mans (Sarthe) and Valence (Drôme).
