Three themes will guide the 2026 edition of the trade show dedicated to packaging and converting. The exhibitors are already fully booked, and the organizers anticipate an edition marked by exchanges around technological, material and human mutations.

A year ahead of schedule, Interpack 2026 is already fully booked. According to Messe Düsseldorf, 2,800 exhibitors from the packaging and converting sector will occupy the entire Düsseldorf exhibition grounds from May 7 to 13, 2026. The organizers indicate that space planning remains open to adjustments, with some requests still under individual consideration.

This year's event (the previous one was held in 2023) will focus on three main themes, known as Hot Topics: Smart Manufacturing, Innovative Materials and Future Skills.

Eight complete, themed halls

The show's sector-based organization has been maintained, with eight major zones corresponding to the main user markets: food, beverages, confectionery, bakery products, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, non-food and industrial goods. Machinery for the production of packaging materials, integrated printing and marking will be grouped together in dedicated halls, as will the heart of the event devoted to packaging materials and goods.

For the first time, the parallel "components" show, dedicated to suppliers to the industry, will feature two complete halls, reflecting an extension of the range of technologies upstream of the value chain.

Three Hot Topics for structuring innovation

The Smart Manufacturing theme covers developments in automation, artificial intelligence, robotics and data processing.
Innovative Materials will feature some 1,000 exhibitors specializing in packaging materials. Developments in advanced plastics, cellulose materials, functional coatings and monomaterials designed for recycling will be particularly highlighted.
Lastly, Future Skills will address the HR challenges facing the sector, including the transformation of skills, the attractiveness of technical professions, continuing training and the digital transition. For Markus Rustler, President of Theegarten-Pactec and of the 2026 edition, the rise in automation does not eliminate the need for qualified personnel: "What sets companies apart is their ability to offer their employees meaningful missions.

An enriched program to encourage exchange

In addition to exhibitor presentations, a number of events will round off the show.
The Spotlight Forum will host conferences on current market trends.
The start-up zone will feature emerging innovations.
A special program, Women in Packaging, will highlight the role of women in the industry.
Last but not least, interpack TV will be broadcasting continuous reports, interviews and presentations from the Düsseldorf site.
