Heidelberg completes its large-format sheetfed offset portfolio with the Cartonmaster CX 145. Unveiled on the occasion of the German manufacturer's 175th anniversary, this new 105 × 145 cm press is aimed at folding carton printers producing large runs, in particular for food, beverage and consumer goods.
A sheet-fed press to fill the gap between Speedmaster and Boardmaster
Until now, Heidelberg has covered 50 × 70 cm and 70 × 100 cm formats with its Speedmaster ranges. The very large format segment was represented only by the Boardmaster, a flexo reel-to-reel system for very long runs. With the CX 145, Heidelberg offers a sheetfed offset solution, with intermediate productivity and flexibility.

"With our new Cartonmaster CX 145, Heidelberg becomes a complete supplier for folding carton printing, says David Schmedding, Heidelberg's Technical and Sales Director. As part of our growth strategy, we are expanding our range of solutions for the packaging sector, filling a gap in our portfolio"
The Cartonmaster CX 145, a Manroland technical base adapted to Heidelberg standards
The Cartonmaster CX 145 is based on the Roland Evolution 900. Heidelberg has reworked this technical base to adapt it to its industrial standards, design and software solutions.
The machine can print up to 16,500 sheets per hour, on solid board up to 1.2 mm and on corrugated board. It can be configured with up to eight printing units and two coating units (LYYL).
The CX 145 press can be connected to the Prinect workflow, as well as to third-party management systems already deployed by printers. "Our performance promise includes local support for spare parts, the global presence of qualified service personnel and fast response times." emphasizes David Schmedding.
The press is already available to order, and its first installation is scheduled for 2026.
