Heidelberg will bring together printers, technology providers, and consultants on Tuesday, October 6, and Wednesday, October 7, 2026, in Germany, for the second edition of Shift. After spending the first day in the city where the manufacturer?and the event?got its name, Heidelberg, participants will head to the Print Media Center located at the group?s headquarters in Wiesloch-Walldorf to view the applications demonstrated on the Jetfire inkjet systems.
The first day, Tuesday, October 6, will focus in particular on data-driven production, workflow automation, robotization, and the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in production and print shop management. Heidelberg users will also present their own digital transformation projects.
Meinders & Elstermann is among the invited printers. The German printer, one of the leading sheetfed offset printers, is among the pilot users of Prinect Touch Free in combination with the Jetfire 50 industrial digital press. It will share its experience with this workflow and the efficiency gains it has achieved.
Heidelberg links this development to a hybrid production model in which digital and offset printing share more automated processes. "Without digitization, automation, and artificial intelligence, sustainable economic success in the printing industry will be virtually impossible in the future." , says David Schmedding, Heidelberg's sales director.
On October 7, the German manufacturer will move Shift to its Home of Print, the Print Media Center in Wiesloch-Walldorf. The Jetfire 50 will operate there with inline finishing alongside the Jetfire 75. Both presses will be controlled by Prinect Touch Free.
Heidelberg also plans to hold demonstrations focused on finishing, data analysis, and the automation of production processes that combine digital and offset printing. Thematic sessions and presentations by partners will round out the second day.
