AB Graphic International (ABG), British manufacturer of converting and finishing systems, will be presenting its DigiLase Duo dual-laser cutting system at Labelexpo Europe (September 16-19, Barcelona).
This new model, based on the DigiLage, uses two separate laser sources. According to the manufacturer, this architecture doubles production speed compared with conventional solutions. Built-in redundancy also reduces the risk of downtime in the event of laser failure, an asset in a web-to-print workflow where production continuity is essential.
What's more, the DigiLase Duo features a Repeat Flow function. It enables automatic changeover of die-cutting dies on the same reel, without operator intervention or additional waste. This technical evolution is particularly aimed at short-run and customized applications, where flexibility remains the decisive factor.
Mark Norman, CTO of ABG, explains in a press release that this development is the result of a direct exchange with an unnamed customer. "Thanks to the introduction of two independent lasers, we have been able to achieve exceptional gains in speed, flexibility and reliability, while helping our customers minimize waste. This is a significant advance in digital finishing technology."
