Two successive announcements marked the summer of 2025 for the Bulteau Développement group. In June, the packaging manufacturer and distributor based in Wambrechies, Nord, finalized the acquisition of CPL-OP Emballages, a converter of single-, double- and triple-wall corrugated board. Three months later, the family-owned group headed by Hervé Marchand announced a name change to officially become Altago.
Four more production sites for Altago
CPL-OP was born in 2017 from the merger between Ondul'Pack, near Nantes, and Cartonnerie des Pays de Loire (CPL), located in Le Mans. The two companies have 60 employees and sales of ?20 million. The two entities produce standard cases, industrial kits, cross-bars, POP displays and corrugated pallets. They have nine converting lines, spread over four sites (in the Sarthe region: two at Moncé-en-Belin and one at La Flèche, and in the Loire-Atlantique region: Château-Thébaud).
The integration of CPL-OP will enable Altago to densify its cartonboard business, one of the Group's four divisions alongside extrusion, paper and distribution.
This acquisition brings to seven the number of entities dedicated to cardboard (Cartonnages Duthoit, Cartonnages du Roannais, Cartonnage Turquet, Cartonnages Vaillant, Corint Sud and Corpal), and marks its first presence in the west of France.
A new identity for " a breath of fresh air"
Bulteau Développement's name change was made official today on LinkedIn.
The new name, Altago, is made up of "alt" from the Latin words altere and altus for choosing the alternative and gaining height, and Ago for agere which means to act, to move forward, to lead.
"Altago is more than just a name. It's a breath of fresh air. A desire to do things differently. A collective energy that rejects routine."
Altago boasts sales of ?295 million and 700 employees.
