New acquisition for Hybrid Software
Belgian publisher Hybrid Software, specialized in productivity software for the printing and packaging industries, has announced the acquisition of Conics, also from Belgium. With 11 employees, Conics develops and integrates software solutions for the printing and packaging sectors, with expertise in artificial intelligence and project management.
Mike Rottenborn, CEO of Hybrid Software, comments: "Our strategy has always been to develop our key expertise in high-end graphic software for labeling and packaging, and then to strengthen it through targeted acquisitions of complementary technologies. With the arrival of Conics, we are strengthening our position in project management and consulting. Their experience in implementing complex projects perfectly complements our existing expertise, and is increasingly in demand from printers and brands alike."
Lesieur removes the cardboard sleeve from its mayonnaise tube
From September 2025, Lesieur will be removing the cardboard sleeve from its mayonnaise tubes. This will save 290 tonnes of cardboard a year, and reduce CO2 emissions by 22%. The in-store display is also changing.
According to a study, this removal would have positive repercussions on the consumer, with, for example, +5 pts on the purchase rate thanks to the enhanced visibility of the product, says the brand.

Lecta launches Creaset GP PFAS-Free for greaseproof labels
Lecta launches Creaset GP PFAS-Free, a single-sided gloss coated paper for labels. Free from per- and polyfluoroalkylated substances (PFAS), it combines grease resistance, gloss and printability. This new substrate is designed for dry or self-adhesive label applications in greasy environments, such as oil bottles or mayonnaise jars.
Hubert Pedurand publishes France desimprimée
Hubert Pedurand, head of the Laballery group (190 employees, sales of 28 million euros), publishes La France désimprimée: Manifesto for industrial reconquest . In this book, the book printer expresses his attachment to his craft and to paper, while denouncing deindustrialization and calling for a manufacturing renaissance.
The press updates its environmental white paper
Under the aegis of the Alliance pour les chiffres de la presse et des médias (ACPM), the press families united under the initiative La presse s'engage pour l'environnement are publishing a second edition of their white paper.
Published in early September, this document lists the progress made since 2023, including enhanced editorial coverage of the ecological transition and new tools for measuring the profession's carbon footprint. Finat opens applications for its 2026 label competition
The 46th edition of the International Federation of Adhesive Label Manufacturers and Converters (Finat) international label competition is now open.
Label printers can submit their designs until February 12, 2026. The competition highlights self-adhesive labels as a marketing, promotional or identification tool, and rewards innovations in design, embellishment and functionality.
ATF Flexo launches a new course promotion
On September 11, Groupe Barbier, a polyethylene film manufacturer based in Sainte-Sigolène in the Haute-Loire region of France, hosted the opening of the third year of the Parcours ATF, a training program run by the Association Technique Française de Flexographie.
This program offers short modules enabling participants to discover the entire graphic design chain, from creation to finishing, including prepress, inks and flexo printing. After Barbier, the session continues this week with the Flexocolor group.
Imprimerie Marie becomes a company with a mission
Imprimerie Marie has obtained the status of "Entreprise à mission", a first for a commercial printer in France. The company, founded in 1954 in Honfleur, Calvados, now includes social and environmental objectives in its articles of association, extending its long-standing initiatives such as the use of vegetable-based inks, plastic reduction, a low-energy building and ClimateCalc certification.
