In receivership since March, Smag Graphique has been sold to X&llence, headed by Alexandre Burgot-Dervin. All jobs have been retained, and investments are planned.

On September 8, the Evry Commercial Court approved the takeover of Smag Graphique by the French holding company X&llence. The manufacturer of printing and finishing equipment for labels and flexible packaging will thus continue to operate under the name Smag X. The fifteen employees and the production site in the Essonne region of France will be retained.

The receivership procedure was opened in March. A continuation plan, validated in May, was not finally implemented. The outgoing manager, Stéphane Rateau, has decided to sell the company, which will post sales of almost 9 million euros by 2023, as part of a structured industrial project.

Investment, reorganization and a boost for R&D

Smag X joins a group of 75 employees that includes another graphic arts player, DB Groupe, manufacturer of labels and identification solutions. With the integration of Smag X, X&llence's pro forma sales would reach 19.5 million euros by 2025.
