Xeikon launches Ecolyne, a label press for hire

The Ecolyne dry toner press should enable workshops to integrate digital label printing without any initial investment.

Digital label printing is looking for new business models. After an initial roll-out in Asia-Pacific at the end of 2025, Xeikon is launching its Ecolyne digital press worldwide. This dry toner press for 330 mm wide labels is offered on a fixed subscription basis. Printers and converters do not purchase the digital press. Xeikon retains ownership of the equipment.

The Belgian manufacturer presents this approach as a response to the financial constraints faced by small structures. "Many printers want to enter or expand the digital label market, but without tying up capital from the outset." explains Frank Jacobs, Product Manager at Flint Group Digital Xeikon. "With Ecolyne, they gain access to industrial production capacity via a fixed monthly payment, while Xeikon takes care of installation, service and availability."

A first installation in Sweden

Among the first users was FG Larsson. This family-owned Swedish printer was looking to internalize part of its food label production in order to respond to shorter orders and shorter lead times. Ecolyne "brings us visibility, while the press gives us the flexibility and quality we need to serve our local customers more quickly." says Magnus Lamke, owner of the printing plant.

Ecolyne reaches a print speed of 25 m/min and a resolution of 1,200 DPI. It can handle a wide range of substrates, including coated and uncoated paper, white and clear PP, PET and metallized film. It is available in CMYK and CMYK + white configurations.

To accompany this launch in Europe, Flint Group Digital Xeikon is organizing a demonstration day on June 11th at Xeikon's headquarters in Lierre, Belgium.
