Müller Martini Launches Separo Pro, a Book Block Separation System

Müller Martini is launching Separo Pro, a destacker for pre-glued or sewn book blocks, designed for the production of softcover and hardcover books. The system handles book blocks of various sizes and thicknesses while maintaining their order using the FIFO principle, "first in, first out."

Separo PRO achieves up to 2,000 cycles per hour and, under certain conditions, 4,000 book blocks per hour in production runs. Müller Martini estimates productivity gains of up to 30% compared to manual feeding.

The destacker can be installed upstream of the Vareo Pro and Antaro Digital perfect binders, as well as the Diamant MC hardcover book production lines. A bypass function allows already-separated blocks or stacks of individual sheets to pass through.
