At the beginning of this year, the Swiss manufacturer Bobst is increasing its external growth operations in packaging production with two investments, one finalized and the second under discussion.
On January 6, 2020, its subsidiary based in China and specializing in post-press equipment, Eterna, acquired 70% of the equity of its colleague Hongjing, also Chinese. Eterna intends to take advantage of this partnership to stimulate innovation in folder-gluers and continue its international growth.
And the Swiss manufacturer for the label, flexible packaging, folding carton and corrugated board industries is in talks with the German company Cito-System. It wants to take a majority stake in this group, which specialises in creasing systems for the packaging industry and employs 230 people.
This transaction could be completed in the first quarter of 2020.
With these two investments in tooling for the packaging production line, Bobst wishes to offer integrated solutions for packaging production.
