Ficime asks the State to recognize a case of force majeure and has also set up a crisis unit.

The Federation of International Mechanical and Electronic Manufacturers and Associations is asking the State to recognize a case of force majeure in the outbreak of the new coronavirus (or Covid 19). This would make it possible to minimise the financial impact of this epidemic on companies. The production and distribution of the federation's companies are on a global scale, and therefore "impacted in the more or less short term due to the risk of late deliveries" .

Ficime brings together 13 unions and unions and represents 417 international mechanical and electronic companies, including the National Union of Information and Printing Solutions and Systems Companies (SNESSII) and the Union of International Trade Companies in Packaging, Process, Marking and Control Materials (Secimep).

For its part, the federation has already put in place several measures to support its companies that employ 100?000 people. It has set up a crisis unit and provides its members with a standard information letter for their clients and a legal circular which analyses the various possible contractual clauses, regulations and legislation in force, and proposes drafting solutions in response.

"These actions reflect our concern and that of our members about the short and medium-term consequences that this crisis is likely to have both on the risks of late penalties and significant loss of turnover" indicates the professional organization.
