Contest - Can you design an object with a TV packaging box?

What to do with a big cardboard box? That's the $10,000 question from Samsung and Dezeen magazine!

Samsung launches international design competition with UK design and architecture magazine Dezeen . With Samsung Out of the Box, they challenge participants to create objects for the home that can be made using corrugated cardboard packaging. Participation in this competition is free and open to any adult, alone or in a team, whether a professional designer or not.

This creative competition accompanies the launch of the Korean manufacturer's new TV packaging, designed on the principle of reuse, which includes a TV console, storage box, magazine rack and cat house (for full details read With Samsung TV packaging boxes turn into furniture ).

The organisers are looking for new and innovative things for the home that can be made, without special skills or equipment, by reusing cardboard packaging and that are different from those already presented by Samsung.
Creations will be graded according to the originality of the idea, the visual appeal of the object, its usefulness in the home and the practicality of the cardboard design. Projects for products similar to those created by Samsung will need to have a very different look and design to impress the judges.

Candidates may use any type of cardboard packaging. However, it must be possible to use the corrugated cardboard boxes of Samsung's The Frame 75", The Serif 55" or The Sero 43" televisions. Dezeen has put the templates for these three packaging items online on its website.

The winner will receive a first prize of $10,000, the second $5,000, the third $3,000, and the fourth and fifth will receive $1,000 each.

The deadline for registration is 12:59 a.m. (Paris time) on 30 May 2020. Now it's up to you!
