We told you about it last month: Varcotec, a German company specialising in coatings, has set up a antibacterial varnish for printed matter . This varnish, unique in the world according to its manufacturer, is now offered in France by the Manufacture d'Histoires Deux-Ponts.
The 130-strong print shop in Bresson in the Isère region of France offers to apply this first antibacterial varnish to its prints, although there is very little likelihood of covid-19 contracting through the paper, she points out. The company headed by Laurent Caillat thus wishes to meet the expectations of certain customers, particularly in the catering and healthcare sectors.
This varnish meets the ISO 22196 (mod.) standard for paper and cardboard regarding the measurement of antibacterial action. "Applying this varnish to absorbent materials such as paper and cardboard can kill germs permanently and ensure the safety of printed matter. It can be used on many printed documents: brochures, menus, catalogues, leaflets, etc." explains the Isère printing house.
"We are very pleased to be able to offer an innovative solution to our customers, congratulates Laurent Caillat, CEO of the Manufacture d'Histoires Deux-Ponts. It is in our culture to innovate and we are the first in France to be able to apply the first antibacterial varnish capable of killing the virus on paper!"
