The Budin et Fils printing works in Val-de-Reuil in the Eure region of France, which was founded in 1952, installed a brand new 25-metre Heidelberg press, the Gallus Labelmaster 440 Advanced, at the beginning of 2020. With this press, the company, which has 14 employees, is expanding its range of products in the high-value self-adhesive label market.
Budin Label Solutions, a new step for the printing industry
"The arrival of this machine marks the culmination of a technological and commercial business project and the beginning of a new stage that will contribute to the long-term sustainability of our business via Budin Label Solutions, explains Ghislain Budin, the manager and grandson of the founder of the printing company. The entire team is involved and has received various training courses, both practical training with Gallus and theoretical training from training institutions."
A wide range of labels with high added value directly and through subcontractors
Historically specialized in administrative printed matter such as notebooks or bundles, then in Sesam label and integrated card, the printing company launched the new entity dedicated to Budin Label Solutions in 2019. "As is the case with Budin & Sons Printing, Budin Label Solutions will offer its services to its customers in its catchment area and as a subcontractor to colleagues."
Ghislain Budin has opted for a complete Gallus Labelmaster 440 Advanced machine, configured to meet virtually all the demands of the food, cosmetics and industrial sectors, both for simple self-adhesive labels and complex labels with foil stamping, varnish, multilayer and other options.
The Gallus Labelmaster 440 Advanced, a flexible and complete label press
It is equipped with the latest innovations presented at Labelexpo 2019, such as the scraper that removes the finest grids at maximum mechanical production speed (200 m/min compared to 100 m/min previously) or the new pneumatic cutting system. "This system allows the cylinders to be changed more quickly and has a carriage for removing and positioning the magnetic cylinder, which saves a considerable amount of time (from 10 minutes with a hoist to less than 2 minutes without a hoist)" explains the builder.
The 440 mm wide press thus achieves a high level of process variability, thanks to its various finishing and printing modules that can be replaced quickly and easily.
"Designed for finishing, the Labelmaster Advance is a perfect fit with our goal of focusing on high value-added labels. We have a configuration that is certainly complex, but above all, it can be upgraded and modified according to our needs" appreciates the printer.
