The Italian group Rotolito, which specialises in the printing of illustrated books, is pursuing its growth strategy.

The Italian Rotolito Group, one of the leading book printing companies in Italy, acquired the G. Canale & C. Romania, based in Bucharest, Romania. The company, renamed Rotolito Romania, specialises in the printing and packaging of illustrated books (large-format sheets and web offset printing). The site has 250 employees and in 2019 produced around 30 million books, most of which are cardboard.

European growth

The acquisition of this new entity is a further step in Rotolito's process of growth and diversification. Rotolito acquired Nava Press in 2014 and more recently Inprint-Litorama (commercial and editorial printing).

Group President Paolo Bandecchi emphasizes that the illustrated book historically represents the heart of Rotolito's business and that this new acquisition represents a strategic investment.

"?Une acquisition outside the Italian territory can represent a strategic investment of great magnitude, which can give a new impetus to our export activity, already significant today. Likewise, our Group can count on the operational character of our commercial offices in New York, Shanghai, Paris and Lausanne?" he explains.

Founded in 1976, the Rotolito Group is today one of the largest European printers. It has eight production sites that enable it to manage the entire production cycle, from pre-printing to binding, for a wide range of books: photo books, textbooks, school books, magazines, catalogues, newspapers, comic strips, leaflets, etc.
