The Roku Gin packaging produced by Van Genechten Packaging and made with Stora Enso cardboard has just won the Carton of the Year award. This is the first prize in the European Carton Excellence Award competition organised each year by the European Association of Carton and Paperboard Manufacturers Pro Carton. The organisation rewards what it considers to be the best packaging solutions in terms of design and functionality.
The association evokes "?un magnificent case offering an excellent visibility of produit?". The six corners of the box symbolize the six plants used in the preparation of this gin.
" ?L 'packaging is easy to assemble and fill and perfectly protects the contents without the need for a plastic insert. The plants are embossed in the background, with hot gold highlights, combined with a soft varnish at toucher?." says the association.
The jury was sensitive to the aesthetics of the packaging, but also to the message it conveys: the history of the product, the plants used, but also a recipe suggestion. "?Tous these elements help to build a bond with the consumer, confirming that he has purchased a premium product qualité?" the jury points out.

In addition to the Cardboard of the Year Award, the organization has awarded more than 20 packages in different categories. For the second consecutive year, cartons made from recycled and virgin fibres were awarded in separate categories.
