Koenig & Bauer has just brought out the new generation Rapida 76, the company's flagship sheetfed offset press in B2 format (standard sheet format 530 x 750mm, special format 605 x 750mm). The highly automated Rapida 76 is capable of printing 18,000 sheets per hour. The new press also stands out from its predecessors in the new design from Koenig & Bauer.
Among the advantages of this press in terms of automation, DriveTronic components enable simple handling and parallel processes during job changes and preparation. One of the strengths of the press is the presetting capability of all components. In addition to the ErgoTronic console with wall-mounted screen, the Rapida 76 has other decentralised touch screens for maximum ease of operation.

Multiple configurations
Up to 11 printing and finishing units can be combined to configure the Rapida 76 to suit individual production requirements. The press is ideal for the production of high-end packaging for pharmaceuticals, luxury labels and cosmetics packaging.
High flexibility also with regard to the compatibility of the press with different ink and coating systems (conventional or UV inks). Various drying systems are also available (HR-UV, LED-UV, IR/hot air).
The Rapida 76 has a number of special features. As with all Rapida presses, inking units that are not required for a particular job can be disengaged from the press drive. A host of digital services surrounding the Rapida 76 reduce unplanned downtime and facilitate maintenance.
