A town hall is printing a catalogue to support its shopkeepers

The 25 pages of Christmas 2020, 100% Solerian merchants must help the commune's merchants to promote their products.

Nothing like a paper catalogue to promote local commerce, suggests a commune of 8?000 inhabitants in the Pyrénées-Orientales. The mayor of Le Soler, Armelle Revel-Fourcade, and her municipal team financed the creation, printing and distribution of a catalogue to support shopkeepers forced to close their shops due to the covid-19 health crisis.

"This second period of containment comes as Christmas approaches, a period eagerly awaited by traders who will be impacted by heavy economic consequences", explains city hall. In order to counter these effects, it has therefore published a 25-page catalogue presenting the products of the artisans, creators and other Solerian merchants deemed non-essential by the State. This free catalogue, called Christmas 2020, 100% Solerian merchants, was published in 5,000 copies. It was distributed in mid-November in mailboxes to residents and made available in shops that remained open.

"Faced with this exceptional crisis, we had to be reactive and present alongside our merchants. This is direct and concrete economic aid from the town of Le Soler to shopkeepers open or closed during the Christmas holidays", said the mayor of the town of Le Soler on her website.
