The Nordprint company, a very small company specializing in manual processing, cutting and gluing of materials, has decided to relocate its sample production activity from Tunisia to Picardy. This decision was motivated by the desire to improve its environmental footprint.
"There are many reasons that led us to this reflection. The reduction of boat or plane trips from Tunisia will have a huge impact on our carbon footprint. There is also the processing time of orders which will be significantly reduced. And finally, locating our activity in France will allow us to radiate more easily on the European countries. Our choice was finalized when I received a call from the BPI in September 2020, which informed me of this plan to support investment in industrial areas. The contribution of this fund was a tremendous support to this reflection that we were asking ourselves without really having the financial means Nordprint explains in a release.
Evolution of the activity
The company has historically worked in the production of health printing for the hospital sector, and has since expanded into the bookbinding market and the production of colour charts for the decoration sector.
Faced with the development of online distribution in the interior design sector, the company has also developed in sampling solutions. Nordprint integrates the reflection on the positioning and the offer of samples, their manufacturing, storage, picking, packaging and sending to consumers. Each year, Nordprint produces 200,000 color charts and 9 million samples for 230 customers in Europe.
