BillerudKorsnäs launches a new generation of white kraftliner

Produced on the KM7, this new corrugated liner offered improved packaging performance, better printability and would be suitable for both pre- and post-printing.

Swedish paper manufacturer BillerudKorsnäs has unveiled its latest product in the white kraftliner range, Pure DecorX. The arrival on the market of Pure DecorX "opens up great potential for improvement in decorative corrugated packaging in terms of strength, print appearance and durability." he says.

Renewable, recyclable and biodegradable, this Pure DecorX corrugated element is made of three different layers of 100% virgin wood fiber, making the cover strong, rigid and thick, according to its manufacturer.
This structure offered significant lightweighting possibilities, high operating capacity in converting machines, reduced risk of corrugation formation and improved packaging performance.

Pure DecorX has a smooth coated surface, allowing for very good printability. The papermaker considers it ideal for applications such as ready-to-use packaging, displays and packaging for food, beverages and high-end consumer goods.

"Customers can use a single reference for both pre-print and post-print - an added benefit." says Rolf Gustafsson, Director of Product Management for Containerboard BillerudKorsnäs.

The new lining is produced at the Gruvön factory in Sweden on the KM7, the "the most modern cardboard machine in the world" according to its owner, inaugurated in October 2019.
