The new spectrophotometer combined with ESWin Closed Loop Color Control software offers an automated color management system.

Color giant X-Rite is introducing a new in-line spectrophotometer, the ColorXRA 45, designed for the paper industry. This spectrophotometer measures color on many paper materials, even textured ones.

"Our most reliable, accurate and connected inline color measurement system, the ColorXRA 45, takes the guesswork out of color control on a variety of papers, including laminated papers, blankets, security papers, colored or white papers, papers with or without optical brighteners." said Michael Saeger, general manager of X-Rite's online measurement solutions, in a statement.

When combined with X-Rite's ESWin Closed Loop Color Control software, the ColorXRA 45 provides operators with real-time color information and an automated color management system. "This speeds up start-up times, cuts shade change times in half, reduces dye consumption and minimizes waste and rework while saving energy and water resources to meet sustainability initiatives." adds Michael Saeger.

The ColorXRA 45 is a non-contact in-line spectrophotometer with a spectral resolution of 1 nm. It can measure color at several points in the papermaking process.

It is also available in a benchtop version.
