Canon's PRISMAcolor Manager, color control for the entire digital fleet

PRISMAcolor Manager is a cloud-based color management software that allows printers to measure and validate the colors of all CMYK printers.

For printers with multiple types and brands of printers, measuring and analyzing the consistency and quality of colors from these different devices can be very challenging. To simplify this process, Canon introduces PRISMAcolor Manager color management software. PRISMAcolor Manager runs on Canon and other branded CMYK inkjet and toner printers in multiple locations.

Through a step-by-step process, this color management software shows the operator how to perform color quality and consistency control, from initialization to report generation.
Color quality is ensured through the use of test charts. These test charts with the appropriate settings are printed and then measured via the digital press' internal color sensors or via an X-Rite i1 Pro or iSis device. The printed color accuracy is compared to recognized standards, such as FOGRA and IDEAllianc, or to user-defined values and tolerances.
The colorimetric results are then displayed against these selected standards in the form of clear graphs and test reports.

Jennifer Kolloczek, Director of Planning, Marketing and Innovation and Director of Print Production at Canon Europe, says: "PRISMAcolor Manager offers print service providers a simple, printer-independent tool to support these processes. On the other hand, its user-friendly interface allows all operators to perform validation."
