New equipment announcements are multiplying in the run-up to Fespa 2025, to be held in Berlin, Germany, from May 6 to 9, 2025. This major event for large-format digital printing has become a strategic moment for manufacturers wishing to present their technological evolutions. HP, which already announced its R530 hybrid model in March, is now unveiling two new aqueous inkjet systems in its Latex range: the HP Latex 730 and 830.
Chromatic stability on various substrates and 4-point sharpness
Both presses are based on a common technology platform, enhanced by an integrated spectrophotometer, a new user-replaceable universal head and a color processing pipeline based on the HP Pixel Control engine. This architecture ensures up to 4-point sharpness and color stability on different substrates, with the ability to reproduce multi-pass jobs without colorimetric drift, says HP.
"One of the main strengths I see with this printer is the fine detail, reduced banding and crisp text even when printing at high speeds." says Andreas Griess, head of German advertising agency DCO Digitaldruck Centrum Oldenburg, for HP.
Optimized output for medium-production environments
In terms of speed, the HP Latex 730 and 830 boast maximum speeds of 105 and 122 m respectively 2 /hour in single-pass mode. Throughputs vary according to the number of passes and the type of substrate (textile, backlit, high saturation...), with a clear focus on light industrial speeds. These speeds are primarily intended for continuous but not intensive production workshops.
What's more, the integrated drying system enables immediate finishing, with no rest phase, thus shortening the overall production cycle.
Enhanced duplexing, loading and feeder functions
The new models benefit from several targeted improvements in production ergonomics. Mandrelless front loading should reduce downtime during media changeovers, while automatic duplex printing will save labor on signage and POP series.
At the same time, the new long-life maintenance cartridge (with +50% life expectancy) and the hot-swappable three-liter ink cartridges on the 830 have been designed to ensure uninterrupted production.
4th generation water-based Latex inks
HP Latex generation 4 inks are water-based and odorless. They are UL Ecologo and EPEAT Climate+ certified, and can print on solvent-free substrates, including recyclable fiber-based media. HP highlights its Planet Partners program for the return of consumables, as well as a support service via the Sustainability Amplifier.
The HP Latex 730 and 830 are available in W versions, printers that incorporate two white ink heads for applications on dark or translucent substrates.
The presses are compatible with the HP PrintOS platform, in particular the Production Hub module. This software layer enables unified equipment control, queue management, remote monitoring and ink optimization.
For multi-site workshops or service providers managing several media references, this tool should facilitate the standardization of processes and quality reporting. It is an essential building block in the logic of a connected workshop.
