New Epson SC-P7300 and P9300 printers for proofing and photography

The Epson SC-P9300

With the SC-P7300 and SC-P9300 models, Epson renews its professional range dedicated to photo printing and proofing. These new 10-color devices feature an enlarged inkjet head, improved media management and connectivity designed for production environments.

Epson modifies its range of high-end inkjet printers with two models aimed at the photography, proofing and fine art printing markets. The 24-inch SC-P7300 and 44-inch SC-P9300 replace the SC-P6000 and SC-P8000. Here's an update on the technical features you need to know before they go on sale in August 2025.

A new printhead for greater speed without loss of finesse

The main hardware evolution of these two new printers lies in the adoption of a 2.64-inch Epson PrecisionCore MicroTFP head, compared with 1.5 inches on the previous generation. This increase in surface area enables greater speed, while retaining a native resolution of 2,400 x 1,200 DPI.
This change should have a direct impact on photo studios' and proofers' workflows, by reducing the processing time per print run, while limiting the risk of passbands.

Violet ink and dense black for extended gamut and enhanced contrast

The SureColor P7300 and P9300 work with the UltraChrome Pro10 ink set, which includes a violet ink among its 10 inks, enabling a significant widening of the gamut, particularly in dark blues and cool tones.
At the same time, Black Enhance Overcoat technology increases the optical density of blacks on glossy surfaces, enhancing the legibility and depth of solid colors.
This duo should benefit both demanding photo work and contract proofing, especially on coated paper.

Front-fed printers

On these two new printers, Epson also introduces a pinless roller feed mechanism, compatible with media up to 1.5 mm thick.
This feature is designed to simplify loading, particularly for users handling thick or rigid media (cardboard, fine art media).
Front-end maintenance also provides direct access to critical components, reducing downtime in multi-user environments.

Enhanced connectivity for multi-machine sites

Both models also feature high-speed USB and Gigabit Ethernet ports, but it's the Epson Cloud Solution Port software that opens the way to remote supervision. Operators can consult usage statistics, costs per print run and maintenance status in real time.

The SC-P7300 and P9300 are delivered with the Epson Edge Print Pro RIP, but are compatible with the market's main RIPs (Caldera, Onyx, EFI Fiery XF). Workshops can therefore integrate the new printers into existing production workflows without software redesign.

SC-P7300 and P9300 designed for dusty environments

Epson has also equipped both printers with a dust cover and protected roller to improve long-term print reliability, particularly in open production environments where particles can accumulate. This design choice is intended to reduce the need for technical intervention in the event of nozzle clogging, and to extend automatic cleaning cycles.

The SC-P9300 and SC-P7300 will be available from August, and will be on show at the Fespa trade fair in Berlin, Germany, from May 6 to 9.
