Ulrich Stetter of Germany is the new president of the European print and digital communications federation Intergraf, effective May 27. He succeeds Cees Verweij of the Netherlands, who was elected by the members of the association, which represents 20 national printing federations from 19 countries.
Ulrich Stetter, an Intergraf director since 2018, is the managing director of one of Germany's largest sheetfed offset printing groups, Druckhaus Mainfranken. This group of six printing plants has 1,200 employees.
"One of the companies I am responsible for was founded in 1849, says the new president of Intergraf. We can't imagine what major changes this company and its employees have gone through over this very long period of time: new technologies, major crises, wars and many other events. The printing industry has seen many disruptions in the past, and we are seeing another one in these difficult days with the pandemic.
But as always, the industry will adapt. So I'm convinced that by being supportive and knowledgeable, the printing world can create many new opportunities from the current crisis."
He adds: "With the changes in media usage and a little bit with the pandemic as well, we can measure today the benefits of print, the ability for everyone to choose the right media for each situation and the fair competition within the media mix."
Intergraf has also appointed a new vice president: Jesper Jungersen from Denmark (replacing Ulrich Stetter).
