Komori victim of a computer attack

Hackers attacked one of the servers of its American subsidiary. New security measures have since been taken and the exposed information clearly identified.

Komori was the victim of a computer attack on February 8, 2021. The Japanese manufacturer said in a statement that day that it detected an anomaly on a server installed in its U.S. subsidiary from a ransomware attack.

Since then, Komori has precisely identified the data affected by this computer intrusion. It only concerns the US subsidiary and no sensitive customer information has been disclosed.
The hackers gained access to image data used for printing demos and tests, personal information of employees, repair information and business information of the U.S. subsidiary.

"Immediately after the unauthorized access, our U.S. subsidiary implemented countermeasures by a specialized security company. Emergency security measures have also been implemented at our headquarters and other Komori Group sites. We will continue to strengthen our security under the guidance of our security experts to prevent this from happening again." says the printing press manufacturer.
