A Nyala 3 for new possibilities at Global Concept

Volume coating and printable media offer new possibilities for the company.

Located in Sainte-Gemme-Moronval in Eure-et-Loir, Global Concept is a company specializing in POP and industrial subcontracting.

In May, a Nyala 3, the SwissQprint large-format printing table with a 3.2 x 4 m printing area, was installed in the print shop. Until the arrival of this machine, Global Concept did not carry out digital printing, but printed in screen printing one color or subcontracted this activity.

"We had more and more digital printing to get done, explains Alexandre Bucci, director of Global Concept. We have a lot of in-house expertise in the 25,000 m 2 of our site where we work with many materials (cardboard, plastic, metal, wood...), but printing was a missing piece."

The Nyala 3, new possibilities previously unavailable to subcontractors

"Today, we have in-house control of print quality, he continues. In addition, its print format, speed and capabilities - such as volume coating or re-coating - open new doors for us that we didn't have access to, even when outsourced."

The Nyala can be used to apply varnish up to 3 mm thick, for example, on substrates up to 50 mm thick. "It brings volume directly to the substrate, where we would have to cut out letters to glue to the final substrate. We can also print on any material." In addition, Global Concept's design office can now present its customers with printed models. "And prototyping is an important part of our business." underlines the company manager.

This machine prints mainly on cardboard and Plexiglas, for POS but also for industrial subcontracting. "We also have some metal and wood needs, basically all the substrates that we come in and bring adhesives or screen printing on today."

While orders and mock-ups are produced daily with the Nyala, the printer continues to test a wide variety of media.
