Florette launches a recyclable paper salad bag

This canned salad bag that reduces plastic use by 40% has clear windows.

After several months of research and "major industrial investments" Florette, a brand from Normandy, is launching a salad bag that can be recycled in the paper industry.

This packaging is made of paper lined with a single-layer plastic sealing film whose thickness has been reduced to a minimum. This solution saves almost 40% of plastic. Despite the technical difficulty, the brand has chosen to maintain the transparency of the bag, which is an important criterion for consumers according to various marketing studies. The new pouch is therefore equipped with windows allowing the fresh product to be seen.
Validated by the organizations in charge of recycling in France, this bag is recoverable by domestic sorting (i.e. the yellow garbage can).

"In two years, we have reduced the amount of plastic in our salad bags by up to 25%. This new recyclable paper bag goes even further, as it allows us to increase this reduction to nearly 40%! says Pierre Meliet, General Manager of Florette France. This innovative packaging, which combines paper and transparency, is a decisive first step for the market. It has been co-developed with consumers and gives them the guarantee that once it is thrown in the yellow garbage can, it will be recycled. We don't intend to stop there, and we continue to work on ever more sustainable technical solutions for the future across all our ranges."

This packaging will be deployed on all references in the Agrilogique range, starting in November 2021. It will be progressively extended to other references in both supermarkets and food services in the coming months.
